The person who is being interviewed is Peter McDonald. He was a happy, tall, young man of 24 years old who does not have a care in the world. The position that he had at the time was selling/delivering bread for $20 a week. The interview does not tell me about his race/ethnicity. This interview took place in Mobile, Alabama on October 7, 1938. The person who is interviewing Peter McDonald is Helen S. Hartley. Peter McDonald went to college, so he has a good education. He had once taught all of the amatuer swimmers at the swimming pool and he wants to play professional baseball. From this interview, I had thought that this man is a good person and is helpful and kind from his actions.
The person who is also being interviewed is Mary Gilchrist Powell. This woman is the WPA supervisor and has also been a welfare worker, teacher, writer, and a musician. Her interview takes place in Lowndesboro, Alabama by Marie Reese. At the time of her interview, she was 27 years old. Mary Powell had a very well education. The interview does not tell about the race she is. This interview had taken place on March, 20, 1939. Mary was very talented and had a natural skill for writing short stories and poems. This woman had accomplished many things and like many things as well: like tennis, croquet, writing, religion, teaching young children, and she was strong because she had survived some illnesses when she was a little girl.

One of the interviews I read was about Amy Chapman’s funeral (Amy Chapman's Funeral). The person who was being interviewed was Ruby Pickens Tartt. She was a female African American. It doesn’t say how old she was, but she stated Amy died at 95. This interview was taken place in Livingston, Alabama on September 28, 1938. The next interview I read was about Jim Lewis who was a turpentine worker (Jim Lewis, turpentine worker). The person being interviewed was Jim Lewis and was interviewed by Helen S. Hartley. It took place on November 4, 1938 at the Federal Writers’ Project Dist. 2. Jim was black and in the interview it said he was 38 years old.

The first person that was interviewed was a man named Jesse Owens, who was a winner in the Olympics. He was African American that is 68 years old. This interview took place in Cleveland, Ohio and the person interviewing him is Rhussus L. Perry. Jesse was a very fast runner that competed in the Olympics and won many metals. He became the forth American to win three or four championships in one Olympic meet. Later, he decided to settle down and get married. He got happily married to Miss Minnie Ruth Solomon. This was a great man who wasn't really recognized as a hero for the Americans in the Olympics. He later received the title of the fastest runner in the world.
The next person that was interviewed was a man named Lorenzo Dow, who was a reverend for a Protestant church. He was a white man that lived until he was 67 years old. He was born in Coventry, Connecticut on October 16, 1777. He was the first to preach in any part of the territory which is now Alabama. He later married a woman named Peggy (no maiden name stated). He had one son named Neal. He died February 2, 1834. This man lead a life preaching to people in the way of a Protestant.
